Year 8 Rite of Passage Mountain Bike Camp

Due to COVID-19 and the new conditions placed upon Department of Education and Training schools, we have been unable to run the Year 8 Leadership Development Program as effectively as we would like. Coupled with the Department of Education and Training ban on school excursions, as well as social distancing and other practices, it has been impractical for us to implement the program as we have in years past.
Consequently, the decision has been made to cancel the Year 8 Rite of Passage Mountain Bike Camp, and all associated training. We are looking at other opportunities and activities to supplement the Year 8 Leadership Development Program; most if not all of them will be conducted in the school grounds, observing current medical advice.
I understand that many of the boys will be disappointed, and I want to thank them for their enthusiasm and commitment to developing their leadership skills, and becoming better men. I also wish to thank all the parents and carers who have been so supportive of this program. You should be justifiably proud of your sons.
Finally, I would like to publicly thank and acclaim Chappy Dave Kamholtz, Jimmy Mann and Ray Wright for the work they have put into the program and their relationships with the boys, and continue to do so. They have done a tremendous job and are committed to developing these boys into young men. Thank you.
